Your Executive Secretary attended the 16th Session of the Asia Pacific Heads of Maritime Safety Agencies meeting, held in Shenzhen from 21 to 23 April and delivered a presentation on the Asian Development Bank funded Fisher Report "Human Resource Development in the Maritime Sector in Asia and the Pacific. It was well received. Now we need to get a statement of support from each agency.

1. Nautical Institute Survey
Over recent years, The Nautical Institute has received growing feedback from young seafarers who support the prospect of academic recognition based on their STCW qualifications and professional experience.
On December 7th, 2014, Korean Register of Shipping presented 10 scholarships to excellent VMU students with a value of 600 USD each.
Attending the ceremony were Capt. Park Yeong Chul – General Manager of KR Singapore, Mr.Lee Sung-Hee- General Manager of KR Hochiminh, Dr. Pham Xuan Duong – Vice President of VMU, representatives of VMU functional deparments and academic units and 10 excellent students who received KR’s scholarship in the 2013-2014 academic year.
