Vietnam Maritime University welcomed Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd. for a working visit

On August 19, 2026, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) welcomed the Delegation from Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd., led by Mr. Sofien Lamiri, General Director, for a working session on strengthening cooperation in education and high-quality human resource development.

The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice President of VMU and the Representatives of relevant VMU units. Representing Damen Song Cam Shipyard, the Delegation was led by Mr. Sofien Lamiri, General Director, together with other company representatives.

Overview of the working session

Damen Song Cam Shipyard has been an important and valued partner of VMU for nearly 20 years, providing students with opportunities to gain practical experience in a professional international working environment and connect their academic knowledge with industry requirements.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice President of VMU, emphasized the importance of University-Industry cooperation in developing high-quality human resources, particularly in shipbuilding and offshore engineering, which are among VMU’s key areas of development in line with Vietnam’s marine economic strategy.

Looking ahead, the company looks forward to expanding cooperation in career orientation, recruitment, and especially student internships, creating opportunities for VMU students to gain practical experience while enabling the company to identify and attract young talent.
