On May 18, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) held an online Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU), the first maritime university in the Philippines.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, President of VMU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice President of VMU, and representatives from relevant departments. Representing JBLFMU, Dr. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian, Chief Executive Officer, attended the ceremony along with senior leaders.
The Representatives of both Universities shared their expectations for future cooperation
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, President of VMU emphasized the long-standing relationship between the two Universities and affirmed VMU’s readiness to strengthen practical cooperation with JBLFMU in education, scientific research, and faculty as well as student exchange.
The Representatives of JBLFMU expressed their appreciation for the partnership and their confidence that the MoU would open up new opportunities for cooperation between the two institutions.
Through the MoU, VMU and JBLFMU committed to enhancing cooperation in education, training, scientific research, faculty and student exchanges, and the development of high-quality maritime human resources./.
