Your Executive Secretary attended the 16th Session of the Asia Pacific Heads of Maritime Safety Agencies meeting, held in Shenzhen from 21 to 23 April and delivered a presentation on the Asian Development Bank funded Fisher Report "Human Resource Development in the Maritime Sector in Asia and the Pacific.  It was well received.  Now we need to get a statement of support from each agency.
2. Guangzhou Maritime Institute

10 VMU students receive KR’s scholarship.

On December 7th, 2014,  Korean Register of Shipping presented 10 scholarships to excellent VMU students with a value of 600 USD each.
Attending the ceremony were Capt. Park Yeong Chul – General Manager of KR Singapore, Mr.Lee Sung-Hee- General Manager of KR Hochiminh, Dr. Pham Xuan Duong – Vice President of VMU, representatives of VMU functional deparments and academic units and 10 excellent students who received KR’s scholarship in the 2013-2014 academic year. 

Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam visited to Vietnam Maritime University

On 26th November 2014, People's Teacher,Prof.,Dr. Luong Cong Nho- President of VMU welcomed and worked with Mrs Nienke Trooster – Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Vietnam. Along with the delegation were Mr Bernhard Kelkes – the first Secretary Economic and Commercial Affairs and Mrs Vu Thi Diep – Senior Trade Advisor.

More than 1000 officials, lecturers and students of Vietnam Maritime University attended the blood donation program.

The blood donation program of officials, lecturers and students of Vietnam Maritime University has gradually become a meaningful and humanistic activity.

During 5th of October 2014, at the gymnasium of VMU, 1.050 officials, lecturers and students attended the blood donation program and donated more than 1.000 units of blood.
