On February 11th, 2025, the Delegation from Vietnam Maritime University (VMU), led by Vice President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, had a working session with LG Electronics Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd (LGE). During the meeting, both sides reviewed the result of cooperation and discussed strategies to enhance collaboration in the future.
Overview of the working session
The year 2024 marked significant progress in the collaboration between VMU and LGE. Notably, the LG Tracks Scholarship Program, launched in 2018, has completed seven cohorts, awarding scholarships worth over VND 2 billion to more than 100 students, providing them with opportunities for internships and employment at LGE. Additionally, LGE has funded for the student research projects to promote scientific research. The Company also sponsored the 2024-2025 Engineering Model Competition, attracting 185 teams and over 1,000 students, fostering creativity, research skills, teamwork, and etc. Furthermore, LGE actively participates in VMU’s job fairs, expanding career opportunities for students.

Moving forward, VMU and LGE will continue key collaboration programs. The LG Tracks Scholarship Program will be expanded to attract more students, offering scholarships and internship opportunities in a professional environment. Additionally, the Engineering Day and student research projects will be further strengthened for greater effectiveness. A new initiative under consideration is the establishment of an Electronics and Mechatronics practice lab to enhance training quality and develop highly skilled human resources. This partnership will strengthen education, research, and industry connections, creating more opportunities for students.
