On 01/24/2013, at Office briefings, Dr. Pham Xuan Duong - Vice Rector welcomed and worked with Mr. Yasumitsu Kida, Second Secretary, Economic Department, Embassy of Japan in Vietnam about the implementation of the project items "Establishment of Logistics Training Center in Greater Mekong Sub-region in Vietnam". At the meeting, the two sides exchanged information on the situation and progress of project items, the planning and implementation of plans for subsequent period.

Dr. Pham Xuan Duong appreciated the support of the Embassy of Japan and its partners in the school for the last time, and hoped both parties will further strengthen cooperation in the future. Project Establishment of Logistics Training Center in Greater Mekong Sub-region in Vietnam is based on the basic financial assistance from the Japan Foundation Integration - ASEAN (JAIF) and the Government of Vietnam. Japan - countries with the most developed logistics industry in the world - will transfer most advanced technology and knowledge to the experts of Vietnam. Logistics Training Centrer in the Greater Mekong Subregion Vietnam will operate independently under the leadership of the Board, including representatives of involved agencies. All the teaching, training and other academic activities will be implemented and supported by the faculty of the Vietnam Maritime University.
The project is implemented on campus of Quan Nam dormitory area. This project has been established with the overall objective is to train high-quality human resources at the operational level to provide for the domestic logistics market in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Besides, Logistics Training Center Greater Mekong Subregion in Vietnam will also aim to improve management and logistics network synchronization development for sub-regional.
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Kida Yasumitsu thanked for respectfully welcome by the university and hoped the project "Establishment of Logistics training center in Greater Mekong Sub-region in Vietnam" will soon go into operation to serve the training human resources logistics is very urgent now.
