On the afternoon of May 11, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) welcomed and held a working session with the Delegation from Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. and Sugahara Kisen Co., Ltd. The meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Vice President of VMU. Representatives from the Department of International Relations, the Faculty of Navigation, the Faculty of Marine Engineering, and the Maritime Training Center also attended the session.
During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Duc introduced an overview of VMU, highlighting its position as one of Vietnam’s leading institutions in maritime education and training, with strengths in developing highly qualified human resources for the maritime sector. He also emphasized the University’s advanced and modern training facilities, which are regularly upgraded to meet the standards of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Representing the partner companies, Mr. Kiyohiko Sakamoto, Managing Director of Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha, Ltd, expressed sincere appreciation for the warm and cordial reception extended by VMU. He also reaffirmed the strong and longstanding cooperation between the two sides.

The overview of the working session
The meeting opened up promising opportunities for future cooperation, particularly in expanding internship opportunities for students majoring in Navigation and Marine Engineering aboard international fleets. This collaboration is expected to further enhance the quality of maritime education and training at VMU.
Within the framework of the working session, the Delegation toured several key training facilities of the University to gain a better understanding of VMU’s educational and training environment.
