Vietnam Maritime University participated in the 22nd ASIA Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF)

The Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF) was established by Korea Maritime & Ocean University (KMOU) in 2002 to foster academic collaboration and research exchange among maritime and fisheries universities in Asia. This year, under the theme "Navigating the Future: Sustainable Fisheries, Maritime Education, and Training in the Era of Shipping Digitalization", the conference was held at Batumi Navigation Teaching University in Georgia from November 13-15.

Overview of the 22nd AMFUF Annual Conference

At the conference, the Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Son - Vice President, proposed hosting the 24th AMFUF Annual Conference in 2026. This proposal holds special significance, as it would coincide with the University’s 70th anniversary - a milestone symbolizing VMU’s longstanding commitment to maritime education and research.

Additionally, VMU signed an MoU with Batumi Navigation Teaching University to collaborate on education and research, further strengthening the relationship between two universities.

The two Universities signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at future joint activities.

The business trip was a great success, further strengthening the relationships among members of the Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF).
