MoU Exchange Ceremony between the Shipbuilding Science and Technology Institute and Hai Phong Port Training and Technical Services Joint Stock Company

On December 15th, the Shipbuilding Science and Technology Institute and Hai Phong Port Training and Technical Services Joint Stock Company exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of the President of Vietnam Maritime University and the Chairman of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, President of Vietnam Maritime University, emphasized that as the University is being developed into a National Key University under Decision No. 1901/QĐ-TTg of the Prime Minister, expanding scientific research cooperation and strengthening linkages with enterprises are key priorities. He noted that the MoU supports research collaboration, technology transfer, and the University’s long-term development orientation.

Mr. Pham Hong Minh, Chairman of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, stated that the MoU between the Shipbuilding Science and Technology Institute and Hai Phong Port Training and Technical Services JSC, one of the key subsidiaries of Port of Hai Phong JSC, would further strengthen cooperation to meet the company’s development needs. Port of Hai Phong JSC currently accounts for about 40% of cargo throughput in the Hai Phong port area, with approximately 70% of its workforce being VMU alumni, reflecting the long-standing partnership between the two sides.

Both parties expressed their confidence that the MoU would serve as an important foundation for further promoting comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam Maritime University and Port of Hai Phong JSC, leading toward the signing of a comprehensive cooperation agreement expected in early 2026./.
