At 9 A.M of the 17th, July, 2014, at Vietnam Maritime University, The Minister Dinh La Thang had a meeting with the university officers about the National Key School Building project.
At the meeting, Prof.,Dr. Luong Cong Nho- President of Vietnam Maritime University had the summarized report about "making Vietnam Maritime University to the national key university" project. Through more than 58 years of building, development, Vietnam Maritime University is now the biggest training place for the transport. With 3,300 students recruited very year, 32 undergraduate majors, 11 majors at master level, 8 majors at doctor level, 10 majors at college level with the total number of 20,000 full-time students, 954 staffs, lecturers in total. The university plays a very important role in training high quality human resources for the national development strategy. To educate the human resources for the sea economic development, Vietnam Maritime University has to innovate many aspects by a number of methods. The innovation in educating thinking, admissions, educating content and method is important. The university also needs to recruit good lecturers, staffs and invest more in facilities, strengthen the cooperation within country and other nations in the world.
Making the conclusion, the Minister welcomed and appreciated the preparation of the university's project content along with achievements in the past few years and the goal, responsibilities in the future.
Mr Dinh La Thang required Vietnam Maritime University to build up Educational Quality Development project based on the Development Strategy until 2020, with the vision to 2030 to build up the Develop and Upgrade Training Quality Project. The target needs to be suitable with the nation and the Transport's strategy and the society's reality.
