On November 12, 2025, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) welcomed a delegation from Hanyang University, Kangwon National University, Geosystem Research Corporation (Korea), as well as Kumamoto University (Japan) and Thuyloi University (Vietnam).

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Minh Duc reaffirmed the importance of enhancing international cooperation in education and scientific research, especially in strengthening collaboration with foreign partners such as those in Korea and Japan. These collaborations play a crucial role in improving education and research quality in line with Decision No. 1901/QĐ-TTg dated September 5th, 2025, by the Prime Minister, approving the project on developing Vietnam Maritime University into a national key university for training and research to serve the sustainable development of the seaward economy in the period to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Within the framework of the seminar, the Delegation attended the seminar entitled “Introduction to Nature-Based Solutions for Coastal Hazard Mitigation”, which is part of a series of activities celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (1965-2025).
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Hoang Hong Giang, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Maritime and Waterways Administration.
The seminar focused on academic research in the field of hydraulic engineering and coastal protection in the context of climate change. Presentations highlighted both theoretical significance and practical value, contributing to sustainable development and innovation in improving coastal resilience and the sustainable management of vulnerable shorelines.
