Undergraduates

Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) started to educate undergraduate programs more than 50 years ago. VMU is the first university in Viet Nam to provide education in the fields of maritime, shipbuilding and sea-ward economy. Through nearly 70 years of establishment and development, VMU has produced about 45.000 engineers, over 35.000 captains, chief officers, chief engineers and seafarers contributing directly to the national maritime, seaward economy, port and other key economic sectors.

Nowadays, VMU is educating 50 majors at undergraduate level. These programs range from engineering, technology to economics, financial management, foreign languages, and law, towards training high-quality human resources for the Northern coastal region and country as well. The key undergraduate training sectors of VMU include: maritime science, shipbuilding, mechanical engineering, electronics and electrical engineering, construction, information technology, environment, economics, management and logistics. These programs are created in both Vietnamese and English, which educates both Vietnamese and international students following a modern orientation, meeting output standards to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills, capable of competing with human resources in the Asia-Pacific region.

VMU’s undergraduate programs are deployed to meet the requirements of quality accreditation agencies with more than 50% of programs accredited. These programs are also kept up-to-date regularly and adjusted to align with the development trends of science and technology as well as the practical needs of businesses and society, to ensure international integration
