The Bachelor’s Program in Business Management E-commerce is designed to meet the increasing demand for human resources in this field, especially in the context of digital transformation and international integration. Graduates of this program will be equipped with in-depth knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage and operate ecommer business activites across various tyoes of enterprises. Furthermore, the program aims to cultivate a dynamic, creative, and adaptable workforce capable of competing in the highly competitive Asia-Pacific region.

The rapid development of e-commerce is driving educational institutions to innovate and keep pace with the demands of the digital economy. However, current e-commerce education programs in universities still fall short in both quantity and quality compared to labor market requirements. Professionals in this field need to be well-versed in digital technology, data analytics, online supply chain management, digital business strategies, and modern e-commerce trends. Recognizing this need, the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management – Finance, has designed the Bachelor’s Program in Business Management E-commerce to train high-quality human resources for the industry.

The Bachelor’s Program in Business Management E-commerce aims to provide high-quality professionals with the ability to design and implement effective ecommerce business strategies. Upon graduation, students will be able to: master management, business, and technology skills in e-commerce across various types of enterprises, both domestically and internationally; develop creative thinking and adaptability to the dynamic digital business environment; compete effectively in the globalized economy, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region; demonstrate proficiency in English communication, especially in e-commerce and digital business terminology, ensuring their ability to work in international environments.

Graduates of the Business Management E-commerce program can pursue careers in: E-commerce specialists at online businesses, e-commerce platforms, technology firms, and digital startups; operations managers, data analysts, and business optimization experts in e-commerce companies; Digital marketing specialists, customer relationship managers, and online market developers in multinational corporations, startups, and non-profit organizations; consultants in digital business strategy, logistics, and e-commerce supply chain management. Additionally, with a solid knowledge foundation and entrepreneurial mindset, graduates will have ability to establish and manage their own e-commerce businesses.

2. Curriculum

The Bachelor of Business Management Ecommerce program is organized into 8 semesters:

Throughout eight semesters, students undertake a comprehensive curriculum that combines theoretical and practical learning. In Semester I & II, students engage in compulsory courses designed to develop the fundamental english skills and provide socio-economic theory. In Semester I, the required courses include Academic English 1 (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing); Marxist-Leninist Philosophy introduces fundamental political and philosophical principles, fostering critical thinking; General Law, highlighting the significance of legal frameworks in business and communication. In Semester II, Academic English 2 in 4 skills Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing; Political Economy, which examines the interplay between political ideologies and economic systems; include Scientific Socialism, which examines political and social development theories.

In Semerster III, students engage in a well-rounded curriculum that lays the foundation for their studies in Business Management Ecommerce. Ideology of Ho Chi Minh explores the leader’s ideologies and their relevance to modern society; English for BME 1; Algebra develops problem-solving and analytical skills essential for business and economics; Microeconomics provides insights into market behavior and decision-making processes; Principles of Management introduces the concepts and skills of modern management; Introduction to Marketing helps students understand the basic knowledge of developing a Marketing strategy for the business; Intro to Business Management Ecommerce, includes basic knowledge of management and e-commerce.

In the Semester IV, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam which examines the party’s role in national; English for BME 2; Macroeconomics which offers insights into national and global economic trends; Programming Technique covers fundamental programming concepts and techniques; Statistics, laying the groundwork for data analysis; Personal and Professional Portfolio, which students utilize study skills, digital business skills, design a professional portfolio and build enterprise projects. Additionally, students can choose between Law of Business and Electronic Commerce introduces to students about regulations of Vietnamese law and international law governing business and electronic commerce activities; Speech communication teaches students the basic principles of oral communication and public speaking.

In the Semester V, students have 6 required courses include English Structure, providing the process of writing and structuring advanced academic essays; Basic e-commerce introduces the fundamentals and infrastructure of e-Business; Database introduces an overview of databases, basic concepts and applications of database; Market Research and Analysis explores a range of strategies and methods for collecting and analyzing data for marketing decision-making; Web Programming provides knowledge on building websites using the WordPress platform along with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL; Internship 1 helps students understand some basic knowledge and become aware of e-commerce business management activities of enterprises. Three selective courses are Service Marketing explores and considers a range of views about services marketing; Computer Networks and Communication provides basic knowledge of computer networks including OSI network models; New Business Enterprise which is enable students to draw upon and apply learning from a range of previous studies.

In the Semester VI, students deepen their expertise in Business Management Ecommerce with six core courses. Marketing Communication provides a comprehensive exploration of the principles and practices essential to effective marketing; Customer Behavior Analysis explores why customers buy and consume brands and the meanings of these brands in their lives; Information privacy and security provides basic knowledge of computer networks including OSI network models; Bigdata Analytics provides students with knowledge about big data, big data analysis techniques in data mining problems; Managing Business Operations provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge about operating an e-commerce business; Digital Marketing which provides students with an overview of developing and implementing digital marketing strategies. Additionally, students can choose from Search Engine Optimization which improve a website's ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) and is considered a subset of digital marketing; and Cultural Issues in International Marketing which explores the topic of culture and the various models; and International Business 1 which introduces students to international business from the basic background.

In Semester VII, students strengthen their skills through core courses in How Brand Works explores the topic of brands and brand management, extending the marketing knowledge and skills; Managing Change which is about the management of change; Building and Sustaining Strategy covers business environment analysis, strategy development using SWOT, and strategic comparison with real-world examples; Finance Management which provides insights into corporate finance and investment decisions; Managing Innovation and Entrepreneurship which help students to understand the strategic logic for innovation and the functioning of development and market processes; Internship 2 helps students understand the knowledge of e-commerce business management activities of businesses. Additionally, students can choose between Strategies for Globally Responsible Leadership provides an opportunity for further specialization in corporate responsibility; and Management Psychology provides students with the knowldege of management psychology to orient, maintain and develop the psychological atmosphere in the enterprise; and Blockchain which provides basic knowledge of blockchain and its applications.

In the final semester, students consolidate their learning through practical applications. The Graduation Internship immerses them in real-world challenges, and the Graduation Thesis showcases their ability to integrate and apply knowledge from previous semesters.
