On the afternoon of July 16th, 2025, Vietnam Maritime University (VMU) had the great honor of welcoming H.E. Mr. Marc E. Knapper, U.S. Ambassador to Vietnam.

During the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Duong, President of VMU, presented an overview of the University’s training and research capacity, with a particular focus on international cooperation, especially highlighting VMU’s cooperation with U.S. partners, which has been ongoing since 1994. Ambassador Knapper expressed his deep appreciation for VMU’s academic strengths, modern facilities, and achievements in international collaboration. He highlighted the significance of VMU’s successful, long-term educational partnerships with U.S. universities and institutes as a vital contribution to the broader Vietnam–U.S. educational relationship.

Ambassador Knapper congratulated VMU on its accomplishments and affirmed his support for further cooperation between the University and U.S. partners, believing these efforts would deepen global integration and mutual development. In response, VMU’s President extended sincere thanks and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to expanding U.S. partnerships, aiming to elevate the collaboration to new heights.
